From the rib, yet trying to find our place in this world.
So many trying to determine how we should behave.
So many objectifying us as if we are less than human.
So many determined to keep us down.
So many trying to silence and shame us.

Yet, we remain here.
Rib and all.
Woman and all.
Image bearer.
Daughter.
Beloved.
Queen.
Rib.
Professional and prophetic like Deborah.
Intercessor like Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Student of Jesus, like Mary - sister of Lazarus.
Bible Teacher, like Priscilla.
Messenger, like Mary Magdalene.
Worshipper, like Miriam.

Many women before us.
Many women after us.
All mattering.
All powerful.
All seen.
All known.
All chosen and loved by God.

Woman, without a rib - the core of a person would collapse. You are essential to the Body and to the world.

You,

my dear rib,

are
